Who are we

East Beach Evangelical Church was founded in the late 60’s and has occupied the current building since 1976 so we have been welcoming new families for over 40 years. Our doors are always open to those seeking purpose in their lives. One of the comments often made by visitors is how friendly the church members are.

The congregation is drawn from the local community and is representative of the cross-section of Selsey’s population including men, women and young people of all ages, including babes in arms, from all walks of life and from many countries throughout the world. We realise that the future of our church rests with the next generation so we strive to connect with young families, children and youth as well as striving to bless the older generation.

We are a Bible believing church and accept the Bible as our infallible Manual for Living because it contains words of wisdom which are just as relevant today as when they were written down for our guidance more than 2000 years ago.

Our services are bubbling with enthusiasm and yet at the same time committed to teaching from the Word of God. We’d like to invite you to join us on Sunday mornings. Our main service is Sunday Worship which starts at 10.00. We normally begin our services with a time of singing praise and worship songs before our young people leave for their own age-related groups. Those who remain continue in the service, where we look systematically at the Word of God and seek to find the message God has for us in the preaching that follows. The service usually finishes around 11.15 when tea and coffee are served. These coffee times are important in our church as they allow us time to get to know each other and be able to help where needed with prayer and encouragement.

We remember our Lord in Communion on the first Sunday of each month in the morning service at 10.00 am and on the third Sunday of the month at 6.30 pm in a more informal devotional time of worship. All who love the Lord and are walking in fellowship with Him and their local church are welcome.

Our Church Mission Summary Statement says that we are a church that is

  • Anchored to the Word of God
  • Alive to the Spirit of God
  • Agonising over the lost of the world

We are members of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches and as such subscribe to their Statement of Belief.

On the weekend of 18th/19th January 2020 we celebrated joining Commission, part of New Frontiers
